Mr. Ari Carrillo

Teacher of Vocal Music and Music Composition

Advisor of Choir

Ari Carrillo is the director of choral/vocal music and music composition at Oakcrest High School. He graduated from Westminster Choir College with a Bachelors of Music in Choral Music Education.

Mr. Carrillo has led and directed several choral ensembles before teaching at Oakcrest, such as Cantores of the Princeton Girlchoir, Westminster Williamson Voices and formed his own children's choir at Brookside Community Church in Mendham, NJ.

Now, Mr. Carrillo leads seven ensembles at OHS performing a diverse selection of repertoire: Mixed Choir, Select Choir, Gospel Choir, Women's Choir, OGirls, OBoyz, and vOcals a cappella. Mr. Carrillo loves teaching choir at OHS because he believes that the art of making choral music in a community celebrates diversity and individuality, but also fosters a sense of community and togetherness. In that way, it is the most human form of artistic expression. Here at Oakcrest, choir is a family!
